Attend international positive psychology summitOrganizers invite students to attend the fifth annual Gallup International Positive Psychology Summit Oct. 5–7 in Washington, D.C. The summit attracts the world’s leading positive psychology academics and decision-makers who apply positive psychology research. Richard Florida, PhD, the Hirst Professor of Public Policy at George Mason University, will deliver the meeting’s keynote address, “The Creative Class as the Soul of the City.”
Among the more than 50 presenters will be Martin E.P. Seligman, PhD, who plans to discuss the applied psychology program at the University of Pennsylvania, and Albert Bandura, PhD, who will discuss self-efficacy throughout the world. Two pre-summit workshops with limited space are also available: “Teaching Positive Psychology,” presented by Tal David Ben-Shahar, PhD, of Harvard University, and “Well-being and Poverty in Africa: Research and Dialogue,” presented by The Gallup World Poll and The Brookings Institution.
