Advanced Training Institutes (ATIs)

ATIs expose psychological scientists to emerging technologies and the most current research methodologies. ATIs provide training and hands-on experience in a variety of areas, including statistical and computational techniques and research with culturally diverse populations. These institutes are hosted each summer at prominent research institutions across the United States. ATIs attract participants from across the U.S. and around the world.

Psychological scientists — new and established faculty, postdoctoral fellows, scientists and advanced graduate students — are invited to apply. APA membership is not required for acceptance, but members do receive discounted tuition. The criteria used to select institute attendees can be viewed at ATI criteria. Applications for each program can be submitted by following the links on each individual ATI program's webpage.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call (202) 336-6000, or send an email to Advanced Training Institute.

Each year the ATIs are announced in Psychological Science Agenda, the APA Science Directorate’s electronic newsletter.
