Topic Guides are brief handouts designed to demonstrate how PsycINFO can be used to search for resources in a variety of topic areas. They contain three sample search scenarios, and a list of selected Index Terms. They have been translated into 8 languages:

In English, the guides are available in two formats: a PowerPoint file that contains only the text, so that you can incorporate any portions of the guide that you like into existing instruction materials; and a full-color PDF that you can download and print at your institution. For best results, we recommend using a lightweight card stock. The file is set to print two Topic Guides per page, double-sided, and be quickly cut to a finished size of 8.5" x 5.5".

Topic Guides are not platform specific, but have been designed to pair with our Quick Reference Guides, which demonstrate how to search PsycINFO on APA PsycNET, EBSCOhost, ProQuest or Ovid.

If you are interested in having a quantity of either the English Topic Guides or Quick Reference Guides sent to you for use at your institution, please contact us.
