New, concise APA style guide available

Cover of The Concise Rules of APA Style

A new APA book aims to provide a quick, complete reference on APA writing and formatting standards, including rules for punctuation, spelling, capitalization, abbreviation, italicization, headings and quotations. "The Concise Rules of APA Style" also gives advice on presenting information in charts and graphs, and provides examples of common grammatical errors made in scholarly articles.

Scholarly-paper authors can also find information in the manual on documenting sources and avoiding plagiarism. Strategies for avoiding bias in language are also included in the pocket-sized, spiral-bound volume.

Students might find the guidebook especially useful, as it is "easy to sift through and find answers to common style questions," according to Heather Tinsley, APA's marketing manager for books.
