Volume 2, Number 3, June 2004 Apply for dissertation funding
APA's Science Directorate is seeking applications for its 2004 Dissertation Research Awards for students whose dissertation research reflects excellence in scientific psychology. The grants up for grabs? Two $5,000 awards, five $3,000 awards and 25 $1,000 awards. Dissertations may be in any area of psychological research, and all full-time psychology graduate students in accredited programs in the United States or Canada are eligible. Applicants must be either APA student affiliates or associate members, or apply for membership when applying for the grants. Graduate students who have defended their dissertations are also eligible, as long as they have not received their doctoral degree. Students must use the award money to support expenses directly related to their dissertation research, such as computer time, animal care, equipment or participant fees. Funding may not be used for tuition, travel or personal expenses.
