Volunteer and become a convention insider

person lying in a hammock between two palm trees

The American Psychological Association of Graduate Students (APAGS) is seeking students to volunteer as APAGS ambassadors during APA's 2004 Annual Convention.

Ambassadors monitor one APAGS session during convention—where they count participants and distribute and collect session evaluation forms. Ambassadors answer student attendees' questions throughout the convention and wear badges. In return, each receives a gift and certificate of recognition.

To volunteer, ambassadors must attend the Ambassador Training Session on July 27 at 3:00 p.m. in the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa. There, ambassadors receive maps of the convention center and information on student programming and offerings in the APAGS Hospitality Suite, where APAGS hosts social hours, business meetings, discussion groups and other programming.

The ambassador experience helps students become experts at navigating the convention and making contacts.

APAGS will accept volunteers until July 27. For more information, visit www.apa.org/apags/convention/ambassador.html. To sign up, contact Betsy Horrocks. Include your name, e-mail address, mailing address and phone numbers.
