APAGS guides target diverse student needs

Looking for advice on selecting practicum sites or on how to talk to clients about your sexual orientation? Look no further: APAGS offers five resource guides that address some of the most challenging issues graduate students face, such as managing the internship application search and navigating graduate school with a disability.

They are:

colored square bullet “The APAGS Resource Guide for LGBT Students in Psychology,” which addresses the unique experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students, such as confronting homophobic attitudes among peers or faculty. The guide offers advice on finding a mentor and social support, doing LGBT-related research and self-disclosure issues to consider with adult clients. The guide costs $8 for APAGS members; $12 for nonmembers. Download an order form at www.apa.org/apags/lgbtguide.html.
