Div. 12 offers awards in clinical psychology Div. 12 (Society of Clinical Psychology) is offering three awards for graduate students in clinical psychology. They are:
Nominations are due Jan 30. To be eligible, studentsincluding predoctoral internsmust be studying clinical psychology and be members of Div. 12. Nominations should include a copy of the nominee's curriculum vitae and two letters of support. Winners receive a plaque, $200 and a two-year subscription to the Journal of Clinical Psychology. Run for Div. 22's executive board Div. 22 (Rehabilitation) is accepting applications for its student representative to the division's executive board. Qualified candidates must be graduate students in good standing in a graduate psychology program. Applications are due Feb. 15. To apply, submit a resume or curriculum vitae, a letter of recommendation and 250-word statement of your career goals and professional activities that reflect commitment to rehabilitation psychology to Kris Hagglund, PhD, School of Health Professions, 507 Lewis Hall, University of MissouriColumbia, Columbia, MO 65211. The one-year position begins at the APA's 2005 Annual Convention in Washington, D.C., Aug. 1821. Representatives must be Div. 22 members. Apply for a Div. 46 media award Div. 46 (Media) seeks nominees for its 2005 Distinguished Dissertation Award. The annual award recognizes research on any media form, including the Internet, radio, television, print, multimedia telecommunications and virtual reality. The winner receives $200 and a free one-year membership in the division. Nominations are due April 1. To be eligible, applicants must have completed their dissertation between January 2004 and March 2005. Applicants need not be Div. 46 members. Funding available for research on children, adolescents Div. 53 (Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology) will award up to three grants for research studies in 2005. Two grants of up to $2,500 are available to doctoral students enrolled in APA-approved clinical psychology training programs and one grant of up to $5,000 is available for a postdoctoral fellow planning an academic career focused on child and adolescent mental health. The grants will provide funding for empirical studies on methods of assessment, prevention or treatment, or on child or adolescent psychopathology. The supported studies need not be for a thesis or dissertation. Applications are due May 1. To apply, send a proposal no longer than 2,500 words, a detailed budget and a curriculum vitae or National Institutes of Health biosketch via e-mail to Div. 53 Executive Secretary Marti Hagen.
